Creature of Clay Exceeds
Preliminary Designs
Clay Creature Reflection (8-D): April 12, 2013.
1. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well & why?
The good or strong parts of my project is the detail because the fur looks lifelike.
2. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project? What is not great and why?
What I could have done better on this project is hollowing out my wolf because I built it first than I had to hollow it out and then I had to build it again.
3. Describe the theme / unity of your creature: What is the theme (or what is represented in) of your design and why did you chose to do that design?
My theme is a wolf. because I like wolfs, and my sister painted a picture of some wolf and I thought it would be cool to make one out of clay.
4. Describe the form of your project: How would you describe the 3-D shape to someone who can't see it?
My form is in the shape of a wolf howling at the moon, it's about three inches high, and two inches across at the bottom.
5. Analyze the use of emphasis: What stands out as strong / dominant? Why did you select to make that emphasized?
What stands out is the fur on wolf because it all over it's body.
6. Metacognate: What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
I learned to hollow it out first so I won't have to build it again, do stuff that might be harder so you can get it done, and do the easy stuff later.
7. Describe the design process of your project (the steps): Why did you do it the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? Did you have the size or design decided first? What changed as you went along with the project? Elaborate...
My project was one of my preliminary designs, I started building it, and after I was done I started hollowing it out, but then it got ruined, so I had to build it again, and make it hollow. I then added detail.
8. Is this a worthwhile project? What should Mr. Purdy do to this project in the future? Why?
Yes this is a worthwhile project if Mr. Purdy doesn't leave.
The good or strong parts of my project is the detail because the fur looks lifelike.
