Reflection On Portrait Photography Portfolio (4-D): Nov. 27, 2012
1. Evaluate: What are the good/strong parts of your portfolio? What is done well and why?
There are pictures of different things, different people, and places, and I used different color setting on my camera Because if I took pictures of one person it would become boring.
2. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project? What is not great and why?
I could have used the rule of thirds better because some of the people in my pictures are right in the middle.
3. Analyze the attributes of your best photo: who is in the image and what is/are he/she/they doing? Why do you think this is your best photo?
I think my best picture is of Antonio, he is looking through a window. I think this is my best picture because I caught him in the moment and though you can see the flash it goes well with the picture.
4. Describe the values used in your portfolio: How did you use lighting to capture the 'essence of humanity'?
I used my flash most times, but then the last couple days I didn't use the flash, Because I wanted to test out different lighting.
5. Describe the use of unity and emphasis: How did you capture the essence of humanity - mostly by actions, personalities, or emotions? Why did you do so?
Most of pictures are of people doing different things, because if I took pictures of the style, even though I would take different photos of different people I would find it boring.
6. Describe the use of emphasis: What body part did you typically emphasize most and why?
The body part I emphasized the most would be the head and body, because I think the face shows the most emotion.
7. Metacognate: What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
I learned that if you forget your camera you could miss good opportunity's to take good pictures. I learned that you need to try different things because if you do the same thing all the time it gets really boring.
8. Describe the design process of your project (the steps): Why did you do it the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? Elaborate...
I didn't really do any of the pictures on my list. then the first day I went out around the school to take pictures with Dani. then in between classes I took photos of different things that you could not see in school. then after I was mostly done I sorted my pictures, then finished taking all of the pictures, then finished sorting them loaded them up to my website.
9. Is this a worthwhile project? What should Mr. Purdy do to this project in the future? Why?
Yes this is a worthwhile project. I think there should be more time to sort the pictures Because there wasn't enough time o take all the photos and sort them.
