Kite History
There are many legends about how kites were invented. There was a legend of a man who was working on his farm when there was a strong wind, he didn't want his hat to fly away so he tied a string to it. In another part of time and space, there was a general whose name was Han Hsin. He lived in the year 200 B.C.; this was the first known record of kite flying. The general was attacking a city, and he flew a kite over the wall of the city, so he could measure the distance his army needed to tunnel to get their victory. Buddhist monks also flew kites in the 7th century, while Marco Polo told tales in England of kites. Kites are really old compared to the first lighter-than-air balloon, but they still make enjoyment for people today.
