MY project is a canvas painting. The materials I used was acrylic paint. I took it home over the weekend and worked on it at home.
basic owl and cat.
2. Evaluate: What are the good / strong parts of your project? What is done well and why? I think the good / strong parts of my project are _____, because ____.
I think the good parts of my project is the shading of the sky because you can tell it is night on one side and day on the other.
3. Evaluate: What do you think you could have done better on this project and why? I could have done a better job with ___, because ___.
I could have done the owl, or the cat better then they are, because I just painted them.
4. Describe the attributes of your theme / unity: What is the deeper meaning of the project? What are you trying to communicate? What details did you use to reflect that theme?
My theme is about two lovers who are far away still love each other. my deeper meaning and what i'm trying to communicate is that even though two people are far away from each other they can still love each other.
5. Describe the important elements (blue-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important elements? Why do you believe those are the most important?
I have value because one side is daytime so it light, while the other side is nighttime so it dark. My other one is line because you can see the strokes of the brush.
6. Describe the important principles (red-titled posters hanging in the art room) used in your design (at least 2): What are the important principles? Why do you believe those are the most important?
I have unity because my painting is about two people loving each other. My other one is contrast because one side is light because it's daytime while te other is dark because it's nighttime.
7. Metacognate (think about your thinking!!!): What did you learn from this project that you could apply to other projects in the future? What lessons could be applied to life in general? Why?
I learned that you need to take your time on things so it won't look bad.
8. Evaluate and list the design process of your project (all of the steps you took to make it). First I... Then I...
I first stretched the canvas, I then gessoed it so it was white, I then stared painting the background, I then painted the people, then the tree, I ended with painting the animals.
9. Why did you do the project the way you did? Was it planned? What is by chance? What changes did you have to make along the way (if any changes were necessary)? What challenges did you have and how did you overcome them? Elaborate...
I wanted to a canvas because I liked how the paint shaded on it. I added some things along the way. I did not have any problems.
10. Was this a worthwhile project for yourself and why? What project will you be doing next (either over the summer OR in art next year) and why?
Yes this is a worthwhile project because you could pick whatever you wanted. I will be doing drawing, painting, and ceramics next year because those are the projects I liked.
